Actress Teri Hatcher was born December 8th, 1964 in Palo Alto, California. As a child, Hatcher was molested by an uncle and later helped to convict the man for a different charge of child molestation
After finishing high school, Hatcher attended De Anza College in Cupertino where she majored in math and engineering. She decided to study acting and went to the American Conservatory Theater. In 1984, she got one of her first jobs as a cheerleader with the "San Francisco 49ers". She also got small roles in TV series and films. In 1993, Hatcher got her breakthrough role in the series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman". The role led to a part in the James Bond movie "Tomorrow Never Dies" despite the fact Hatcher was pregnant when the film started shooting.
In 1997, "Lois & Clark" was canceled and Hatcher began to audition for other roles. She appeared in several made for TV movies and the major films "Spy Kids" and "Momentum". However, none of these roles really helped Hatcher's career move forward. It wasn't until 2004 when Hatcher beat out four other actresses for the lead role in "Desperate Housewives" that she rose to fame again. Cast as Susan Mayer, Hatcher was a sensation and the show was a big hit. She won a Golden Globe for her role and 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In 1988, Teri Hatcher married Marcus Leithold but they were divorced the year after. In 1994, Hatcher remarried to the actor Jon Tenney. They had a daughter together in 1997 named Emerson Rose. The couple divorced in 2003. In addition to acting, Teri Hatcher wrote a column in "Glamour" magazine and promotes several beauty products. In 2008, she was in a dispute with Hydroderm for supposedly breaching her contract.
